Hello Cowboy Cheer!

The 2017 starts Monday next week! We are excited to get this season started.
This is your weekly newsletter. If you miss this, you can go to the web site and click the news tab and all of the information you need for the week is there.
Practices at Players U 
  • Practices - M and W 6-8 pm (July 31 -September 6) 
  • No Practice on Labor Day September 4th
  • Practices - M only 6-8 pm (September 11 - November 4)
Please make sure your cheerleaders are in shorts, t-shirt/tank, gym shoes and hair pulled back. No jewelry and don't forget water bottles!
Important Dates for this Month:
July 31- August 15 - ONLY SALE THIS SEASON!! Spirit wear sale! Forms will be handed out at practice this week. We will also have the forms on the web site as well. New this year- gloves for the cold weather, custom yard signs,car decals & Cheer Dad shirts.
August 7 - August 21  - Fundraiser kick off!  We will be selling Lou Malnati's frozen pizza coupons. Each coupon is good for one 9” frozen pizza, to be picked up by the customer at any area Lou Malnati’s location. It will be mandatory to sell 20 coupons per cheerleader, there will be a prize for the 1st,2nd & 3rd place person that sells the most. Comp cheerleaders will need to sell an additional 20 coupons. This is a mandatory fundraiser. If you choose not  to participate in the fundraiser you will be responsible for the $100.00 fundraiser fee. 
 Picture Day (time & date to be set later)
  • End of August - Date to be announced soon - Football games start 
  • Flaggies: game every Saturday at 10:00 am at Pioneer Park, Season will be 9-10 home games. 
  • Grades 2-8: the schedule will not be complete until right before the football season starts (end of August). We are at the mercy of the BGYFL. As soon as we get it, schedule will be posted asap. Most games are on Saturdays with a few on Sundays.

The summer clinic is 5 days away! We can't wait to get this great group of cheerleaders ready for the season.

Important Dates:


June 19: Chicago Sports Night –wear your favorite Chicago Team gear

6:00-8:00 pm -First night of the Summer Clinic and Uniform Fitting 


 June 20: Crazy Sock Night – wear crazy socks (mix and match)

6:00-8:00 pm-Second night of Summer Clinic and Uniform Fitting


June 21: Parade Uniform – dress rehearsal for the 4th of July parade (AHYAA tank, navy shorts, white socks, white shoes and white bow).

6:00-8:00 pm-  Final night of Summer Clinic/Uniform fitting

8:00 - performance - come and see what your daughters learned at the clinic.


June 22: Feed My Starving Children Event- you must be registered to attend this event. This includes coaches. If you have not signed up yet the link is below. 



 July 4: We will be cheering in the 4th of July Parade. Please see attached. Volunteer email was sent out next week.


 ​​​July 31st: Season Officially Starts - Players U Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 pm (7/31-8/31) then Mondays only (9/11-10/30).

Hello Cowboys Cheer:


For the 2017 season the 2nd - 8th grade teams will be getting new uniforms.  Last year our supplier discontinued the uniforms we have had for the last few seasons.  We are SO excited for the fresh, new look of the uniforms and think that the cheerleaders will look AMAZING in them!  To ensure that all cheerleaders obtain their uniforms prior to the start of the season, we will be setting up dates for the vendor to size the girls in May.  These dates will be BEFORE camp and announced with registration.  This will allow the vendor to get each cheerleader her uniform as soon as possible.
